  • Arrival in Delhi - Transfer to Shimla

Your Shimla Manali tour begins with a morning departure from Delhi. The drive to Shimla covers approximately 350 kilometres through the Haryana plains before the road begins to climb into the lower Himalayas. The scenic ascent along the Kalka-Shimla route offers the first views of pine-covered hills and mountain valleys. Upon reaching Shimla, check in to your hotel and take a leisurely evening stroll along the famous Mall Road. This colonial-era promenade is lined with shops, cafes, and heritage buildings that reflect Shimla's history as the former summer capital of British India. Visit the Ridge, a large open space in the heart of Shimla that offers wide views of the surrounding mountain ranges. The Gothic-style Christ Church, one of the oldest churches in North India, stands prominently at one end of the Ridge and is worth a closer look.

  • Shimla Local Sightseeing

Begin the day with a visit to Jakhu Temple, dedicated to Lord Hanuman and situated at the highest peak in Shimla at approximately 2455 metres. The temple is one of the most important spiritual sites in Himachal Pradesh, and the walk through the forest trail to the summit is a rewarding experience. From the top, panoramic views of Shimla town and the snow-capped Himalayan ranges extend across the horizon. Later, visit the Viceregal Lodge, also known as Rashtrapati Niwas, a well-preserved example of Elizabethan architecture that served as the residence of the British Viceroy. The building and its surrounding gardens are open to visitors and offer an insight into Shimla's colonial heritage. The afternoon can be spent exploring the local markets on Mall Road, where traditional Himachali handicrafts, woolens, and souvenirs are available. The Lakkar Bazaar, known for its wooden crafts and toys, is a popular stop.

  • Shimla to Manali

Depart early for Manali, one of the most popular hill destinations in North India. The drive covers around 270 kilometres and passes through the Kullu Valley, a stretch widely known as the Valley of Gods due to its numerous temples and significant place in Himachali culture. The route follows the Beas River for a large portion of the journey, offering continuous views of river gorges, apple orchards, and mountain terraced fields. Pass through the town of Kullu and, if time allows, stop briefly at the Kullu market, which is well known for traditional Kullu shawls. Continue along the riverside highway before arriving in Manali by evening. Manali sits at an altitude of approximately 2050 metres in the Beas River Valley and serves as the gateway to the higher Himalayan regions of Lahaul, Spiti, and Leh.

  • Manali Local Sightseeing

Spend the day exploring the key attractions around Manali. Begin with a visit to Hadimba Devi Temple, a distinctive wooden temple set within a cedar forest. Built in 1553, the temple is dedicated to Hadimba Devi and is one of the most important heritage sites in the Kullu Manali region. Its pagoda-style architecture and intricate wood carvings make it one of the most photographed landmarks in Himachal Pradesh. Proceed to Old Manali, the original village settlement with traditional stone houses, local culture, and a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the main town. Visit the Manu Temple, believed to be the only temple in India dedicated to the sage Manu. Later, explore Vashisht village, known for its natural hot sulphur springs and ancient twin temples dedicated to Lord Rama and Sage Vashisht. The Tibetan Monastery near Mall Road is also worth visiting for its cultural and architectural significance.

The valley offers clear views of the surrounding mountain landscape and is a popular point for adventure activities and nature appreciation. From Solang, continue toward Rohtang Pass, situated at an altitude of approximately 3978 metres on the Kullu-Lahaul border. The pass is one of the most visited high-altitude points in Himachal Pradesh and remains snowbound for most of the year. The drive to Rohtang is an experience in itself, with the road climbing steeply through dramatic mountain terrain and offering views of glaciers, alpine meadows, and deep gorges. On clear days, the views from the top extend across the Lahaul Valley and toward the Spiti range. Note that access to Rohtang Pass is subject to weather conditions and permit availability.
